چکیده

In the present study, controllable microwave sintering was applied to prepare partially stabilised zirconia ceramics with enhanced phase composition and a more uniform structure. To reveal interface properties structural changes of PSZ during process, XRD, FT-IR, Raman, SEM characterisations were utilised. XRD analysis Raman demonstrated that increase temperature promoted martensite conversion. However, prolonging duration time unconducive retention stable phase. Additionally, FT-IR characteristic peak movement caused by reversible transformation observed. Furthermore, found treatment improved grain size structure distribution as-received MgO-PSZ sample. This work constructed technical prototype preparing via sintering, which can provide theoretical basis experimental for further industrial production.

Effect of sintering process parameters on the properties of 3Y-PSZ ceramics

The effect of sintering process parameters on the properties of 3 mol% yttria partially stability zirconia (3Y-PSZ) ceramics has been investigated. The relative density of the sintered pellet rapidly increases from 70.5 to 93.6 % with rose temperature from 1473 to 1573 K. In addition, the relative density only slightly increases from 94.9 to 96.6 %, when rose sintered temperature from 1573 to 1...

Microwave Sintering of Thermistor Ceramics

Microwave sintering is a new sintering technology developed in the middle to late period of the 1980’s, which is characterized by fast densification for ceramic materials[1]. In recent years, microwave heating has been well employed in the field of sintering and joining of ceramics as a result of its advantages against conventional methods. These ceramic materials include oxides, mixed oxides, ...

Practical classes " Ceramics & Colloids " : TP 3 Sintering 1 TP 3 - Ceramics : Sintering and Microstructure

After the initial molding of the ceramic, whether by slip casting or dry pressing, it is still necessary to densify the compacted powder samples (green bodies) to form a continuous 3D structure and thus to get ceramic pieces appropriate for the selected application. Usually this is done by a sintering process which is a consolidation and densification step of the granular compact through the ac...

The effect of nano transition metals on microstructure and phase evolution of low carbon MgO-C refractories

In the present study, the effect of Iron Nitrate as catalytic precursor to in situ formation of nano-Fe particles in phenolic resin and microstructural evolution of MgO-C refractories has been investigated. Therefore, various samples according to matrix section formulation of low carbon MgO-C refractories (LCMCR’s) with 0 and 6 wt% (Fe/Phenolic resin) were prepared and phase and microstructure ...
